SECTION 6 HEALTH HAZARDS PROTECTIVE MEASURES FIRST AID
Carcinogen: Not a carcinogen
EYES: Can cause severe burns. In the event of contact flush with water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention. Use chemical goggles when handling..
SKIN: Can cause severe burns. Immediately flush with water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation develops. Use rubber gloves and apron when handling.
INHALATION: Inhalation of vapors causes coughing, chest pain and irritation of nose and throat. Remove to fresh air.
INGESTION: Can cause severe burns to the mouth and throat. If swallowed give large quantities of water, then drink milk with whites of eggs. DO NOT induce vomiting. Get immediate medical attention.
IN ALL CASES: GET PROMPT MEDICAL ATTENTION IF EFFECTS PERSIST
PRIMARY ROUTES OF ENTRY: Skin, eyes, inhalation, ingestion.
HYGIENE: Wash
hands and face before eating or drinking.
SECTION 7 PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING, STORAGE AND USE
SPILLS AND LEAKS: Material may be flushed with water or neutralized by readily available compounds such as soda ash. Acetate salts are water soluble and may be readily flushed away. Flush to a sanitary sewer if allowed by local regulations.
STORAGE AND HANDLING: Store in warm area to protect from freezing and away from ignition sources.
WASTE DISPOSAL: Dispose of in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
EMPTY CONTAINERS: Rinse thoroughly with water. Send to a recycling center or return to Wausau Chemical Corporation.
