Extinguishing Media: Does not burn.
Special Fire Fighting Procedures and Hazards: Self contained positive pressure breathing apparatus.
Unusual Fire & Explosion Hazards: Can react violently on contact with water producing heat and gas.
SECTION 5 REACTIVITY INFORMATION
Stable: X Unstable: Hazardous Polymerization: Occurs: Does not Occur: X
Conditions to Avoid: Avoid contact with acids without good agitation. Exercise care if mixing with water as heat is generated with spattering and boiling.
Materials to Avoid: Acids will cause violent reaction with heat and gas. Contact with aluminum, brass, tin, zinc creates flammable hydrogen gas. Reaction with reducing sugars creates carbon monoxide.
Decomposition Products: Does not decompose.
