SECTION 6 – HEALTH HAZARDS – PROTECTIVE MEASURES  – FIRST AID

EYES:              Extremely corrosive to the eyes with severe irritation and burns with possible permanent damage. Will cause pain, swelling and blurred vision. Use eye protection. In the event of contact flush thoroughly with water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if symptoms develop.

 

SKIN:              Can cause severe irritation and burns to the skin with only short contact time. Use neoprene or rubber gloves. In the event of contact wash with water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if symptoms develop.

 

INHALATION:           Mist or vapors can cause damage to the respiratory system. Move to fresh air.

 

INGESTION:              Corrosive to the mouth, esophagus and mucous membranes. May cause local damage if taken internally.  Drink large amounts of water. DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING.  Get immediate medical attention.

IN ALL CASES:          GET PROMPT MEDICAL ATTENTION IF ADVERSE EFFECTS PERSIST

WASTE DISPOSAL:              Follow recommendations of local, state and federal regulations.

 

EMPTY CONTAINERS:        Rinse thoroughly with water. Send to a recycling center for disposal or return to Wausau Chemical Corporation.
