Conditions to Avoid:                 Never use welding or cutting torch on or near containers, even if empty, as product or residue can ignite explosively. Metal containers, including tank truck or tank cars must be grounded when transferring material. Vapors are heavier than air and may travel along the ground or may be moved by ventilation and ignited by ignition sources.

EYES:              Mild eye irritant with possible stinging, tearing and redness. Use chemical goggles when handling this material. In the event of contact flush with water for 15 minutes while holding eye lids apart. Get medical attention if symptoms develop.

 

SKIN:              Can cause skin irritation on repeated or prolonged contact. Use neoprene or rubber gloves and apron when handling this product. In the event of contact wash thoroughly with soap and water. Get medical attention if symptoms develop.

 

INHALATION:           Mist or vapors can cause irritation of the respiratory system. Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, perform artificial respiration.

 

INGESTION:              Small quantity not likely to be harmful. Larger amounts can be harmful.  Drink large amounts f water or milk. Get immediate medical attention.

 

IN ALL CASES:          GET PROMPT MEDICAL ATTENTION IF ADVERSE EFFECTS PERSIST

 

PRIMARY ROUTES OF ENTRY:      Skin, eyes, inhalation, ingestion.

 

HYGIENE:      Wash hands and face before eating or drinking. Wash soiled clothing before wearing again if contact occurs.

SPILLS AND LEAKS:            Contain to prevent loss to the environment. Eliminate all ignition sources. Absorb with vermiculite, or absorbent. Collect excess material. Prevent run-off to sanitary sewer, or water ways. If run-off occurs notify authorities.

 

STORAGE AND HANDLING:           Keep containers tightly closed. Store at ambient temperatures. Provide adequate ventilation when handling this product. Segregate all ignition sources.

 

WASTE DISPOSAL:              Follow recommendations of local, state and federal regulations.

 

EMPTY CONTAINERS:        Replace and firmly tighten closures. Store away from ignition sources or excessive heat. Vapors in the container can be explosive when exposed to a spark. Send to a recycling center or return to Wausau Chemical Corporation.
