Unusual Fire & Explosion Hazards:                   Flammable vapors may travel along ground and spread fire or be ignited by sparks or other sources of ignition.  Decomposes at high temperatures to form hydrogen chloride, phosgene and other toxic vapors.

EYES:              Can cause severe irritation, redness, tearing, blurred vision. Use chemical goggles when handling this product. In the event of contact flush with water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if symptoms develop.

 

SKIN:              Can cause skin severe irritation, defatting and dermatitis on repeated or prolonged contact. Use neoprene gloves and apron when handling this product. In the event of contact wash thoroughly with soap and water. Get medical attention if symptoms develop.

 

INHALATION:           Mist or vapors can cause irritation of the respiratory system, headache, dizziness, nausea, drowsiness and anesthetic or narcotic effect. Can also cause possible unconsciousness and even asphyxiation.

 

INGESTION:              Can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.  Aspiration of material into lungs can cause chemical pneumonitis that can be fatal. Get immediate medical attention.

 

IN ALL CASES:          GET PROMPT MEDICAL ATTENTION IF ADVERSE EFFECTS PERSIST

 

PRIMARY ROUTES OF ENTRY:      Skin, eyes, inhalation, ingestion.

 

HYGIENE:      Wash hands and face before eating or drinking. Wash soiled clothing before wearing again if contact occurs.

SPILLS AND LEAKS:            Contain to prevent loss to the environment. Ventilate area. Collect excess material and place in proper drums for disposal at licensed facility.

 

STORAGE AND HANDLING:           Keep containers tightly closed. Store at ambient temperatures.

 

WASTE DISPOSAL:              Follow recommendations of local, state and federal regulations.

 

EMPTY CONTAINERS:        Send to a recycling center or return to Wausau Chemical Corporation.
