SECTION 6 HEALTH HAZARDS PROTECTIVE MEASURES FIRST AID
Carcinogen: No
EYES: Highly
corrosive to the eyes with potential permanent damage. Use chemical safety
goggles. In the event of contact flush with water for 15 minutes and get
medical attention.
SKIN: Extremely corrosive to the skin. Avoid contact by using neoprene gloves. Wash thoroughly with water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.
INHALATION: Fumes are corrosive to the mouth throat and mucous membranes
INGESTION: Drink large quantities of water. DO NOT induce vomiting. Get immediate medical attention.
IN ALL CASES: GET PROMPT MEDICAL ATTENTION IF EFFECTS PERSIST
PRIMARY ROUTES OF ENTRY: Skin, eyes, inhalation, ingestion.
HYGIENE: Wash
hands and face before eating or drinking.
SECTION 7 PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING, STORAGE AND USE
SPILLS AND LEAKS: Contain and collect excess material. Provide adequate ventilation. Residual material can be neutralized with soda ash or lime. Do not use sawdust or rags for mopping.
STORAGE AND HANDLING: Store in a cool location away from heat sources or oxidizing materials.
WASTE DISPOSAL: Follow applicable local, state and federal regulations. In most cases can neutralize and send to a sanitary sewer.
EMPTY CONTAINERS: Rinse and send to a recycling center or return to Wausau Chemical Corp.
