EYES:              Highly corrosive to the eyes with potential permanent damage. Use chemical safety goggles. In the event of contact flush with water for 15 minutes and get medical attention.

 

SKIN:              Extremely corrosive to the skin. Avoid contact by using neoprene gloves. Wash thoroughly with water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.

 

INHALATION:           Fumes are corrosive to the mouth throat and mucous membranes

 

INGESTION:              Drink large quantities of water. DO NOT induce vomiting. Get immediate medical attention.

 

IN ALL CASES:          GET PROMPT MEDICAL ATTENTION IF EFFECTS PERSIST

 

PRIMARY ROUTES OF ENTRY:      Skin, eyes, inhalation, ingestion.

 

HYGIENE:      Wash hands and face before eating or drinking. Wash soiled clothing before wearing again if contact occurs.

SPILLS AND LEAKS:            Contain and collect excess material. Provide adequate ventilation. Residual material can be neutralized with soda ash or lime. Do not use sawdust or rags for mopping.

 

STORAGE AND HANDLING:           Store in a cool location away from heat sources or oxidizing materials.

 

WASTE DISPOSAL:              Follow applicable local, state and federal regulations. In most cases can neutralize and send to a sanitary sewer.

 

EMPTY CONTAINERS:        Rinse and send to a recycling center or return to Wausau Chemical Corp.
