SECTION 6 – HEALTH HAZARDS – PROTECTIVE MEASURES  – FIRST AID

Carcinogen:      No

EYES:              May cause severe irritation with possible permanent impairment of vision, even blindness. Vapors can irritate the eyes. Use protective goggles and face mask. In the event of contact flush with water for 30 minutes. Get immediate medical attention if symptoms develop.

SKIN:              Can cause skin severe irritation on a single short exposure. Use neoprene or rubber gloves and apron when handling this product. In the event of contact wash with water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation occurs.

INHALATION:           Mist or vapors can cause irritation of the respiratory system with a single (hours) prolonged exposure. Excessive exposure may cause respiratory irritation and liver and kidney injury. Provide adequate ventilation and/or a respirator with an organic vapor cartridge.

INGESTION:              A single dose oral toxicity is considered to be low. Ingestion may cause gastrointestinal irritation or ulceration and burns of the mouth and throat. DO NOT induce vomiting. Drink large quantities of milk or water. Get immediate medical attention.

IN ALL CASES:          GET PROMPT MEDICAL ATTENTION IF ADVERSE EFFECTS PERSIST

PRIMARY ROUTES OF ENTRY:      Skin, eyes, inhalation, ingestion.

HYGIENE:      Wash hands and face before eating or drinking. Wash soiled clothing before wearing again if contact occurs.

SECTION 7 – PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING, STORAGE AND USE

SPILLS AND LEAKS:            Clear non-emergency personnel from the area. Contain to prevent loss to the environment, especially to any body of water. . Collect excess material with noncombustible absorbent such as sand. Shovel into suitable containers. Do not use sawdust, wood chips or other cellulosic materials to absorb the spill.

STORAGE AND HANDLING:           Prevent eye and skin contact. Avoid breathing vapors. Keep containers tightly closed. Do not store in carbon shell containers. Do not store in a common area with halogenated materials.
