EYES:              Severe eye irritant, causing pain and redness. Prolonged contact may cause blindness. Use chemical goggles when handling this product. Do not wear contact lenses. In the event of contact flush with water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if symptoms develop.

 

SKIN:              Can cause skin inflammation, followed by dermatitis on repeated or prolonged contact. Use neoprene or rubber gloves and apron when handling this product In the event of contact flush with water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if symptoms develop.

 

INHALATION:           Can cause shortness of breath. If inhaled, immediately move victim to fresh air. If not breathing, perform artificial respiration. Get immediate medical attention.

 

INGESTION:              Diluted solutions may cause severe abdominal pain, anorexia, nausea, and vomiting. Higher concentrations may cause blurred vision and speech, blindness, unconsciousness and death. Get immediate medical attention. Drink large amounts of water. Induce vomiting immediately.

 

IN ALL CASES:          GET PROMPT MEDICAL ATTENTION IF ADVERSE EFFECTS PERSIST

PRIMARY ROUTES OF ENTRY:      Skin, eyes, inhalation, ingestion.

 

HYGIENE:      Wash hands and face before eating or drinking. Wash soiled clothing before wearing again if contact occurs.

SPILLS AND LEAKS:            Shut off ignition sources. If large spill, wear protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus. Do not touch spilled material. Stop leak if safely possible. Contain to prevent loss to the environment. If small spill, absorb with sand or noncombustible material and put in containers for later disposal.

 

STORAGE AND HANDLING:           Keep containers tightly closed. Store in cool, dry, well ventilated area, away from strong oxidizer and fire hazards.

 

WASTE DISPOSAL:              Follow recommendations of local, state and federal regulations.

 

EMPTY CONTAINERS:        Rinse thoroughly with water. Replace and firmly tighten closures. Send to a recycling center or return to Wausau      Chemical Corporation.
