SECTION 6 HEALTH HAZARDS PROTECTIVE MEASURES FIRST AID
Carcinogen: No
EYES: Severely irritating to eyes causing pain and redness which may last several days. Prolonged exposure could cause blindness. Use chemical goggles when handling this product. In the event of contact flush with water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if symptoms develop.
SKIN: Can cause skin irritation on repeated or prolonged contact. Persons with pre existing skin disorders may be more susceptible to effects. Use neoprene or rubber gloves and apron when handling this product. In the event of contact wash water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if symptoms develop.
INHALATION: Mist or vapors can cause headache, dizziness, distorted perceptions, mental depression, and irritation of the respiratory system. Remove to fresh air immediately and call emergency medical care. If not breathing, perform artificial respiration.
INGESTION: Diluted solutions may cause severe abdominal pain, anorexia, nausea and vomiting. Higher doses may lead to blurred vision and speech, blindness, unconsciousness and death. Drink large amounts of water. Do Not induce vomiting as risk of lung damage exceeds poisoning risk. Get immediate medical attention.
IN ALL CASES: GET PROMPT MEDICAL ATTENTION IF ADVERSE EFFECTS PERSIST
PRIMARY ROUTES OF ENTRY: Skin, eyes, inhalation, ingestion.
HYGIENE: Wash
hands and face before eating or drinking.
SECTION 7 PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING, STORAGE AND USE
SPILLS AND LEAKS: Contain to prevent loss to the environment. Absorb with sand or other noncombustible material and collect excess. Do Not flush into sewer or water ways.
STORAGE AND HANDLING: Keep containers tightly closed. Store in cool, dry, and well ventilated location. Keep away from strong oxidizers and potential fire hazards.
WASTE DISPOSAL: Follow recommendations of local, state and federal regulations.
EMPTY CONTAINERS: Replace and firmly tighten closures. Send to a recycling center or return to Wausau Chemical Corporation.
