EYES:              Severe eye irritant could cause corneal burns and conjunctivitis. Use chemical goggles when handling this product. In the event of contact flush with water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if symptoms develop.

 

SKIN:              Can cause skin irritation and corrosive burns. Use neoprene or rubber gloves and apron when handling this product. In the event of contact wash with water for 15 minutes. Get medical attention if symptoms develop.

 

INHALATION:           Mist or vapors can cause irritation or corrosive burns to the respiratory system. Lung irritation, nitrogen oxide poisoning and pulmonary edema could occur at higher concentrations. Remove victim to fresh air. If not breathing, perform artificial respiration. Get immediate medical attention.

 

INGESTION:  Corrosive to the mouth, esophagus, mucous membranes, respiratory tract, and stomach. Drink large amounts of water or milk. Do Not induce vomiting. Get immediate medical attention.

 

IN ALL CASES:          GET PROMPT MEDICAL ATTENTION IF ADVERSE EFFECTS PERSIST

SPILLS AND LEAKS:            Contain to prevent loss to the environment. Dilute small spills with alkali. Be sure to have adequate ventilation. Collect excess material. Do not flush any residual to a sanitary sewer or waterway.

 

STORAGE AND HANDLING:           Keep containers tightly closed. Store in cool, well-ventilated area. Avoid storage on wood floors or near wood walls or other combustible materials.

 

WASTE DISPOSAL:              Acid should be diluted and neutralized carefully. Follow recommendations of local, state and federal regulations.

 

EMPTY CONTAINERS:        Replace and firmly tighten closures. Return to Wausau Chemical Corp.
