SECTION 6 HEALTH HAZARDS PROTECTIVE MEASURES FIRST AID
Carcinogen: Yes
EYES: May cause severe burns, destruction of eye tissue and possible permanent injury or blindness. Prolonged exposure could cause conjunctivitis. Use chemical goggles and face mask when handling this product. In the event of contact immediately flush with water for 20 minutes, holding eyelids apart to ensure proper irrigation. Get immediate medical attention.
SKIN: Extremely corrosive. May cause reddening, itching, inflammation, burns , blistering, and possible tissue damage. Prolonged exposure could cause cracking and possible secondary infection with tissue damage. Use neoprene or rubber gloves and apron when handling this product. In the event of contact immediately wash with water for 20 minutes while removing contaminated clothing. Discard any contaminated leather goods. Get immediate medical attention.
INHALATION: Mist or vapors can cause severe burns and tissue damage to the respiratory system. Symptoms may include throat burns, constriction of the windpipe, severe pulmonary edema and death, depending on concentration and length of exposure. If symptoms occur remove victim to fresh air. If not breathing, perform artificial respiration, of breathing is difficult give oxygen. Keep person warm and at rest. Get medical attention immediately.
INGESTION: Corrosive to the mouth, esophagus, mucous membranes and gastrointestinal tract. Aspiration into lungs may cause chemical pneumonia and lung damage. Drink large amounts of water to dilute. Do Not induce vomiting unless directed by medical personnel. If spontaneous vomiting occurs, keep head below hips to avoid aspiration Get immediate medical attention.
Over exposure to this product may cause systemic toxicity including adverse effects to kidneys, liver, teeth, respiratory and cardiovascular systems

SECTION 7 PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING, STORAGE AND USE
SPILLS AND LEAKS: Contain to prevent loss to the environment. Absorb material with soda ash or lime. Collect excess material. Do Not flush the residual material to water ways.
STORAGE AND HANDLING: Avoid contact with strong oxidizers. Store product in vented container. Do not use with materials or equipment sensitive to acidic solutions. Do not cut, grind, drill, or weld near containers.
WASTE DISPOSAL: Follow recommendations of local, state and federal regulations.
EMPTY CONTAINERS: Replace and firmly tighten closures. Send to a recycling center or return to Wausau Chemical Corporation.
